Update Winter 2008The weather equipment and software are functioning normally. After getting pounded with nearly 40 inches of rain in November and December of 2006 (26.85", 13.20"), the first 6 months of 2007 relatively dry with only 6.29" recorded in the combined months of April, May and June. Compare that with May of 2005 when we received 17.30". The total measured precipitation for the year was 67.19".December was by far the wettest month with a sizeable 17.54" of rain. Two significant storms hit near the end of the year. The first was on October 18th with a high wind gust of 40 MPH - despite the high wind warnings and damage elsewhere, it didn't come close to the record of 49 MPH set on December 15th, 2006. The next was on December 3rd when temperatures rose and over 5" of rain fell on top of 13" of accumulated snow. Though we had no direct damage here, many parts of Western Washington are still recovering. Our low temp for the year an even 20.0 degrees on Jan. 12 and our high temp was recorded on July 10 at 94.0. Finally our record wind speed for the year was 41.0 on Jan. 7.
