Border Collie IN MEMORIAM

This page is dedicated to the border collies we have been fortunate enough to share our lives with that are no longer with us. Dear family members that will never be forgotten and cherished always.

Tess

TESS

7/23/96 – 4/6/09

Our dear “Freckle Nose” was one of those once in a life time dogs. She never met a stranger, and everyone who met her, both human and animal, liked her. She absolutely loved everyone! She was the silent, alpha pack leader that all the other dogs bowed to with no hesitation. She didn’t have a mean bone in her body, and her awesome ability to love was surpassed only by her intelligence. Her favorite thing was foot rubs on her tummy that Mike was more than willing to give her. He rubbed her tummy, she warmed his cold feet that had been outside all day at work. Tess absolutely loved puppies, even though she was never able to have any of her own. She was known as “Auntie Tess” because she was in charge of protecting the puppies. Her favorite toy was a basketball that she got very good at making it go where she wanted it, and any old chunk of firewood. Going for rides was also something she loved to do. If one of the other dogs had a vet appointment, she would always go along for the ride. The love and joy she brought to us is terribly missed, but the memories we have will help get us through.

Rest in peace dear girl.

Abbi

ABBI

2/27/99 – 4/24/09

Abbi was the foundation dam of my breeding program. She gave me some of the most fantastic, beautiful puppies I have ever seen. Abbi was an excellent mother, and always took great care of her babies. Abbi was so sweet; many times I saw her sit in front of Tess and wrap her front legs around her to give her a hug, something I’ve never seen another dog do. She was a working dog, strong, quiet, intelligent, biddable, loyal and always ready to go.

Fortunately for us, Abbi put her stamp on her pups and they have been continuing to pass on her qualities. I feel blessed to have had her with me and to have some of her daughters and a son to keep her legacy going.

I will miss her terribly.

Enjoy your sweet reward dear girl.

Doc

DocDoc

On December 5, 2006 Doc disappeared from his kennel without a trace. I can only speculate what happened to him, but I’ve now realized that he’s gone from our lives forever. I can’t begin to explain how heartbreaking it was to lose him, and those of you that have his puppies know what a wonderful sire he was. Doc was a lovely gentleman that always had a smile on his face. His favorite toy was his feed dish that he loved to throw up in the air and try to catch. His nickname was “Pig Pen” because he also loved to play in the mud. If the ground was dry he’d upset his water bucket to make mud. He was usually a filthy mess, and he was happy. I miss you so much Doc, I hope you found peace where ever you are. I will miss you always and remember your smile.
